13 JUNE: ARRIVE DELHI

14 JUNE: IN DELHI

Full day city tour.

15 JUNE: FLY DELHI-LEH

Early morning flight to Leh. On arrival meet our local staff, transfer to hotel, leisure time for altitude acclimatization.

In the evening we will take a walk in the colorful market.

16 JUNE: LEH SIGHTSEEING

Morning sightseeing - Shanti Stupa, and Sankar Gompa, Changspa village, and the bazaar, the Peace Pagoda inaugurated in 1983 by the Dalai Lama. This Pagoda is one of several such monuments erected around India by a Peace Sect of Japanese Buddhists. Sankar Gompa: north of the town center, is among the most famous monastery in central Ladakh, afternoon visit Hall of Fame and Spituk monastery.

17 JUNE: LEH

Full day sightseeing Famous Ladakh monasteries Shey Palace, Thikse, & Stok Palace, drive back to hotel. Relax and have dinner and free time in Leh.

18 JUNE: DRIVE LEH-KAGRIL 

After breakfast drive to Kargil, en route visit Mulbek Monastery and it’s amazing Buddha statue, Kargil (2704m), the second largest town in Ladakh, lies on the banks of the Suru river 204 kms west of Leh - virtually the mid-point on the Srinagar-Leh road. It is the junction of the ancient trading routes linking Afghanistan, Tibet, Central Asia, Sinkiang, Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. With the growing interest in the mystique of the Himalayas, as well as adventure tourism in the last few years, Kargil has grown in importance. On arrival at Kargil check into the hotel for overnight stay.

 

19 JUNE:  DRIVE KARGIL-RANGDUM 

In the morning after breakfast we drive towards Suru valley along Suru River. Enroute we see the mighty twin peaks of Nun & Kun that are among the most challenging peaks in Ladakh. By evening we arrive at Rangdum plains in Zanskar region. Overnight stay in safari style tents in the picturesque campsite.

 

20 JUNE: DRIVE RANGDUM – PADUM 

In the morning we visit the famous Rangdum Monastery perched on a solitary rock in the middle of the valley. Later drive to Padum, the capital of Zanskar region. By late afternoon we reach Padum and check in at the hotel for overnight stay.

 

21 JUNE: PADUM 

After breakfast commence full day of visiting local culture and monasteries in and around Padum, Karsha, Sani –Zongkhul, Thongde, and Zanggla overnight stay in Padum.

 

22 JUNE : PADUM – KARGIL 

Morning drive back to Kargil via Rangdum. Check into tented camp. Later proceed for a visit of the town, which has some of the finest examples of Turkish style houses. Overnight stay at the camp.

 

23 JUNE : KARGIL – DHA-HANU: 

Morning drive to Dha-hanu along with the Indus river, on arrival check in tent camp for overnight.

 

24 JUNE : DHA-HANU: FULL DAY VISIT

Kaltsey, Domkhar, Skurbuchan and Achinathang. There are many small villages but only two villages of Dha and Hanu are open with permits for our group. Being on lower altitude Dhahanu is warmer than Leh, we will see and visit with the pure Aryan people whose ancestors traveled overland with Alexander the Great during his journey to India. Overnight at tent or guest house.

 

25 JUNE : DHA-HANU – LEH 

After breakfast drive to Leh, enroute visiting Lamayuru and Alchi monasteries. Arrive Leh and check into hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

 

26 JUNE : HEMIS FESTIVAL

Drive to Hemis monastery 49 kms / 01 hr for full day at festival. Return to hotel in Leh for dinner and overnight stay.

 

27 JUNE : HEMIS FESTIVAL

Drive to Hemis monastery 49 kms / 01 hr for full day at festival. Return to hotel in Leh for dinner and overnight stay.

 

28 JUNE : FLY LEH – DELHI DEPARTURE

Transfer to Leh airport for flight to Delhi. On arrival, assistance at airport to connect your flight for international flights to US and Europe
