Directed by Pat Moffitt Cook, Ph.D., the Open Ear Center (OEC) is dedicated to educating the public and professional community in the use of crosscultural sound and music in healthcare, education and for spiritual health.

We offer a 14 month certificate program in therapeutic applications of cross-cultural sound and music, a 9 month spiritual health through music institute, national and international introductory and specialty weekend workshops, and day/evening seminars.

In the Spring or Fall, OEC provides unusual travel opportunities focused on music, culture and spirituality.

See our entire list of Scheduled Events, or review the listings, below.

Cross-cultural Sound and Musical Healing
OEC specializes in educating healthcare professionals and laypersons in the use of sound and music to facilitate the healing process. Our techniques have proven effective in the fields of health and education, and we continue to investigate new cross-cultural applications internationally each year.

Trainings, Workshops and Travel Intensives
OEC offers educational programs and trainings, workshops and international travel intensives.

OEC Listening Program
One of our core programs, since 1994, is the Open Ear Listening Program (OELP) for children and adults. We provide both onsite and home-monitored auditory stimulation programs. We offer the Tomatis Method and the Listening Fitness Training Programs (LiFT) and special audio-vocal and voice techniques for the reeducation of the ear.  These programs benefit individuals with auditory processing and learning difficulties. Each program supports self-esteem and better communication skills.
